Sonora's second-largest city

Located 325 miles south of the border city of Nogales and 150 miles south of the state capital of Hermosillo, Ciudad Obregon is located in Sonora’s Yaqui Valley, a rich farming and agricultural region.

To the east of the city lies the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range, to its west the famous Sonoran beaches along the Sea of Cortez and to its south the Sonoran jewel of Alamos and the Mexican state of Sinaloa.

The city, previously known as Cajeme, is the second largest metropolitan area in the state of Sonora with 450,000 inhabitants, and is a center of business and agriculture.

It boasts a proud tradition of its native Yaqui peoples, evident in many of the cultural sights and activities available to enjoy there.

Ciudad Obregon, Sonora is a modern international city that has an abundance of opportunities for shopping and sightseeing, internationally known surgeons and other medical professionals, and of course, a variety of lodging options – from the elegant to the traditional.
